Piryxtopia 2010
During SXSW this year, Piryx will partner with Seattle-based non-profit Startup Weekend and Microsoft BizSpark to host the 2nd annual Piryxtopia Charity Bash! This event is focused on raising money for the charity We Hear Your Voice, which was started after the tragic earthquake that left Haiti in shambles. We Hear Your Voice began as a mission to unite a mother with her 3 Haitian children, but has grown into an effort to assist all children devastated by the disaster.
During the event, you will have the chance to hear from the founders of Piryx and Startup Weekend, as well as local notables. We will have a live video-conference with Justin Yarborough, founder of We Hear Your Voice, who will be in Haiti. The documentary trailer for We Hear Your Voice will be featured, as well. And of course- lots of fun will ensue!
In order to attend this event, guests must pick-up a Piryx 314 card beforehand. These cards will be circulating during the first 2 days of SXSW and can be obtained through any Piryx, or Startup Weekend employee. Cards will be also available through supporters and booths scattered around SXSW. Join our Facebook Event Page to learn about who and where these folks are. The cards must be registered in advance, which will automatically put your name on the list for the party.
After you have completed your registration, you will be prompted to make an optional donation to We Hear Your Voice. The suggested donation amount is $20.

St. Mary’s law students Kennedy Granger, a Haitian native, and Justin Yarborough, created We Hear Your Voice after the tragic earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. Granger had been in the arduous process of adopting three Haitian children over the past four years, and when news of the earthquake struck, they were the first thing on her mind. After failed attempts to communicate with her family in Haiti, Granger and her fellow law student, Justin Yarborough, set out for Haiti in order to find missing relatives and assist the relief efforts.
